This would be the only kit I would have a snowballs chance at finishing .
I think it stalled out when I foolishly removed the cowl flaps thinking I would "improve them" which would make them look a bit out of place when compared to the rest of the kit. The flaps also are giving me issues (not the flaps themselves but the interior detail eyesore you can see with the flaps dropped.

Very cool Chris - that kit defeated me completely. Feel free to jump in with it anytime if you get the chance - love to see it finished.

If I do find one, I'll build as Pappy Boyington flew with.

Pappy flew with the AVG 1st Squadron, the Adam
& Eve. Notice the squadron insignia. 2nd Squadron was Panda Bears, and 3rd Squadron, photographed in
Color by member R.T. Smith was the Hells Angels.

Is that Boyington as in the Black Sheep?

Yes sir. The same guy. I read his biography and it did mention he flew with the Flying Tigers before he flew Corsairs in the Pacific.

There were so many stories about him. Who knows if some were facts or fiction or tall tales/exaggerations in his own words. He was a hellraiser in his own right.

My addition to this worthy endeavour arrived yesterday. Two bags, sealed but a bit worn. They look okay, though. haven't gone through them yet. One set of destructions and not one, not two but three set of decals. For the age, they look to be in excellent condition. I guess we'll see, huh?

Ready to have some fun now.
