Tamiya 1/48 F4F-4 Wildcat

Post by keyda81 »

Been a while, I know. I haven't completed a model since March of last year.
I started this Wildcat back in January for the then boyfriend, now fiancee, lol. It will be one of the planes Joe Foss flew. Fiancee is a Foss, not sure if there is any relation, but either way.

Like most Tamiya kits, goes together easy.

A little bit of putty, sand, prime repeat, but not much.

Managed to get paint on it last weekend, then did decals after work one night.

May get some time tonight to work on weathering. We'll see. Taking a little shopping trip with the fiancee out to East Aurora, Marilla area. We don't get to spend much time together on the weekends usually. He has two disabled sons that he cares for 5 days a week, along with working full time. He's a very busy man. It's a long story.

Looks great! Some of the best therapy there is!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Keyda! Good to see you back! And great to see your latest project. :hmm: Gotta love a 1942 F4F!

Good to see you back at the bench. That's a great little kit. It's coming along nicely.
Thanks,

Can't see the photo alas thanks to the UK Government, but great to see you back at the bench.

Re: Tamiya 1/48 F4F-4 Wildcat- Finished!

Post by keyda81 »

Thanks everyone! Finished this up Wednesday night. Not perfect, but it'll do. Built it for the fiance, he shares the same last night as the pilot Joe Foss. Again, not sure if there is any relation, but cool none the less.

21.5 hours into it, but it took 10 months. :headslap: I'm hoping to get more bench time than that this coming year. I'll have four days off next week, so I will definietly be parking my butt at the bench. I just need to decide what I'm going to build next.
