Im in need of advice/suggestion with applying the length of PE Zimmerit ony Panther kit.

The PE Zimmerit - the long ones...

There are notches for various stowage of sorts. The PE Zimmerit does not have holes/notches for them.

I'm not sure if I'm to apply the Zimmerit PE then drill the holes from.the inside(?)

The box art...

Any help would be appreciated.

In case anyone is curious, I'm using this stuff for applying my PE Zimmerit on my Panther kit. This stuff is very good and sets tight once dried after 6 hours. Plus, it's water soluble to clean/thin the glue. I like the fact it gives me time to move the PE before it sets. Water clean up is a big bonus. I have a dedicated brush for that product use.

I’d say to mark the areas on the PE Zimm where the external fittings go, based upon locations on the original kit base. Remove any locating pins off the parts and place them on the PE in the appropriate locations.

I will admit, I use Gorilla CA glue on the difficult fiddly spots. Used an old paint brush to brush in small.areas.

All is left is main gun barrel mantle and sides of tank body.

Looks pretty good Tom. The glacis plate ball MG mount looks a bit funky, but the rest looks the part.

Yeah. Had to find a steel ball or marble to do that. I found a marble at work and used it. Instructs you to roll the ball around the PE MG amount to shape. Did the best I could.

Once all the PE Zimmerit are on, is there something I need to prep the PE for paint?

Maybe hit it with some lacquer thinner first to remove any possible coatings on it. Then it’s gonna need a serious primer coat like Tamiya.

You're doing an excellent Job with that Tom - very well done. The sticky-back plastic stuff was hard enough but PE!?! :whiteflag:

I did get the sticky back type but it wa for the wrong Panther tank. It's not too bad if you take it slow with PE Zimmerit.

I have plenty of lacquer thinner to prep PE. Just need to check if I have some primer laying around somewhere. I probably do.
