Printed Box Art

I took a quick snap of the box art because it really looks good and helps to sell the kit - this also may be as the artwork was intended to be seen on a sheet of cardboard which would soak up the ink and tone done the colors; the printed version on cardboard looks the best out of all versions so far - the saturation of the ink on cardboard corrects the acid-bright green sheen of the online version

Happy Holidays! What a machine, John! Thanks for posting. I'm not sure it's for me, though. Funny comments; did you read them?? Cheers, mate.

Bruce, the sprues on this looks beautiful! That pilot figure could be a great addition… :hmm:

I think the connection I keep wanting to mention is through "Classic Air Frames" of Chicago, which early on partnered with Eduard:
By the end of 1995 we had 10 kits on the market and lots of photo etch and had also set up a co-operation with Jules Bringuier of Classic Airframes to produce his models.
- from the company website history

His personal symbol of a hand holding the torch of liberty aloft does not have black “cuffs” as far as I can decipher from my two photographs. I did think about building the torch as a stencil. I think I’ll be able to use what Eduard presented here. The decals are all in register and although age has dried them, the decals seem workable.

Enter Barracuda Roy's Resin Seat

Earlier in the year Roy at Barracuda Studios had a major sale so I picked up a lot of small resin pieces that were offered. Since I work in whatever scale pleases me rather than stick with one, I picked up 1/48 seats. In this case, a pair of Albatross seats. I realized that this seat was very, very close in size to the Eduard Weekend version and although both suffer from lack of complete authenticity, I found that with a little bit of whittling I could knock down the back of the Albatross seat to match the Nieuport version and fit everything easily. Plus this gave me Roy's version of seatbelts which are really well done at this scale.

I started here:

Those resin seats do look pretty nice Bruce. I need to look for those sorts of sales. :hmm:
