I haven’t decided on the duration of this Group Build but I’m thinking of running it up to the date of his passing December 29th 2026.

John Eaton Memorial Group Build
This group build will be in honor of one of our own—SPAM member John Eaton who recently passed away after a valiant battle with cancer. John mostly did aircraft kits. You can build whatever aircraft you’d like or choose one on your own from his stash. (He has a very large stash
)

Absolutely I’m in! Note my response in your feeler thread that I kicked your idea upstairs to our admin, thinking this should be made official, but I’m ready to go. I just think we need a hand on the tiller.
Make more models!

Re: John Eaton Memorial Group Build
Most likely I’ll build two or three. One is already on my wish list at Scalehobbyist - Hasegawa AV-8B Harrier, the other may be the Skyraider - a bird I’ve been wanting to build again since my youth years. The third one I already do have the P-47 Razorback kit in my stash.

Man I’m only part way thru his stash list and see several that I’d love to build that I already have…
decisions decisions…

I'm in too! But, I had to ask Chat GPT for a javascript to run in my browser so I could filter John's list down a bit as it's a bit overwhelming to go through...Stikpusher wrote: ↑Thu Jan 01, 2026 9:03 pm Man I’m only part way thru his stash list and see several that I’d love to build that I already have…decisions decisions…

Ok, I’ll build a Monogram 1/48 P-39 (kit no 6844). I have been looking for an excuse to build this kit for a long time. I plan on doing the box scheme.

Re: John Eaton Memorial Group Build
Gentleman,
sorry for being late. I absolutely love the idea and would bring myself in with a small build.
I see that one of the overlaps between John and my stash is the Stummel Habicht from Planet Models. A fairly simple (I hope) resin kit.
As you see, I moved this topic to the Official Group Builds area. I there's room for improvement, please let me know.
Thank you all for being the great human beings that you are. John will be missed and this is a great way to honor him and his modeling legacy.
