Thanks Gary! I'm pretty pleased with him - I'll still add a wash, but other than that he's done.
cbaltrin wrote: Mon Jan 26, 2026 10:41 am Great looking cockpit and pilot Stuart! Might have to buy this kit if only to built the cockpit :hmm:
You'll certainly have fun with Chris - it's very well detailed. I've not really done it justice to be honest.

Thanks!

Excellent work on the pilot Stuart! And you should be able to see a bit of the seat, even with the pilot in there. Some medium red brown should do the trick.

Bravo, Stuart! Fantastic figure painting as a base for washes. Looking forward to how the pilot will appear once he's finished. What paints are you using here?

Yeah go on - I'll add a bit. the seat cushion at the back will still be black though.

Thanks Carlos!

Thanks Bruce. I've added a light brown wash to the pilot now which has helped bring out some of the detail. Paints wise I'm just using what I have to hand - Hataka, Humbrol, Citadel, Vallejo and ICM. All water-based acrylics.

The cockpit is 98% done now - just a tiny bit of a wash and some metallics to add to the shoulder straps, and then I can start assembly.

 Thanks Carlos!

Its all OOB including the belts - the instructions actually show you how to strap the pilot in and have a PE belt on the PE fret for it. The IP is just the decal over the plastic part blasted with many layers of Mircosol. It's not perfect, but looks good enough in the pit and in the photos. I think if I were to display this with the cockpit open, I may well fit a AM IP.

But yeah, it's a very nice cockpit - the fit was excellent.
