I finally pulled the trigger on a Tamiya 1/48 F-14A (only $79 as the LHS). I debated getting this before I finished my Monogram Tomcat, but no matter how much Tamiya Magic is in the box, I have those nostalgic feelings and life experience driven passion for the Monogram kit that Tamiya will never replace. That said, I just had to see the modern engineering with my own eyes. Now I just need to figure out a way to sneak it into my house--it's not exactly small enough to stick up the back side of my jacket :giggles:

Chris, I bought that Tamiya Tomcat on sale a few years ago now. I don't have a finished F-14 in the display after owning the Monogram bird since the late 1980s, early '90s. I want to build that Tamiya 'Cat but I'm worried that I'm not up to the challenge. But faint heart wins no maiden...

Hide it in the garage. Sneak it in after the missus is in the shower or in bed for the night

Or hide it in the trunk.

I have to admit, I’ve done it before… :giggles:

Just go for it Gary. Heck, even brush paint it if you want. Remember the perfect is the enemy of the good!
