Nice work on the chassis and coach work, Tom! I’d be tempted to dip and strip the whole exterior piece, just take it down far enough and redo it. I know that’s the nuclear option. I’d be slightly concerned about sanding at this stage, though.

The reason I dont want to go that route is I have very little left of Model Master Guards Red and the blue.

I have a plan to fix the trunk top surface.

Of course, Tom! Forgive me. It’s a pity so many wonderful Testors colors are gone now. I think I can match the red but I have no idea about the blue.

The trick will be in the masking. One thing I would definitely consider is “de-tacking” the Tamiya tape to avoid more peeling. Another recommendation is to avoid keeping tape on any surface for too long; I usually tape then paint then remove. You probably do too, since you build so fast!

With all the invasion stripes you’ve painted you don’t need advice from me anyway! Lol

Detacking tape only result in paint bleeds. My go-ro masking tape has been Frog Yellow painter tape. I also have Frog green painter tape I don't use too often. Probably because its a thicker tape than the yellow type.

Car kits do tend to get done quicker. That's why in my youth & teen years I end up buying a new car kit every week
