Tamiya 1/35 Sdkfz.251/9 12 Hour Build

Post by Stikpusher »

This is my latest completion, the 1/35 Tamiya Sdkfz.251/9 Ausf.D built for the So.Cal. AMPS Zoom 12 Hour Challenge. 3 four hour sessions, one month apart, done during Club Zoom meetings. I did replace the kit decals with some Star Decals markings for Panzer Lehr Division in Normandy. I also used an Aber brass antenna, as well as adding a few bits of stowage from my spares bin into the troop compartment. Paints used were AK Real Colors and Tamiya for the main scheme, along with Vallejo and AK 3rd Gen for most of the detail painting, along with some AK Real Colors marker work here and there, and AK mud on the running gear….

Impressive Carlos!

Knowing this build took ridicilous 12 hours to finish, makes it even more impressive!

I like how you have added the mud (dried) splashes on it, just perfect amount!

Kari, Gary, and Mike, thank you for looking in and commenting! You guys should try a 12 hour build like this on your own sometime…. It’s interesting to see what a time deadline can push one to do. :hmm:

That is such a sensational model! way to go, especially on that camouflage. Magnificent!

My old friend Jon Buis used to swear by a Badger 105. Good Airbrushes he used to say.
