The motor is almost done. Been stripping alot of chrome parts on this one. Tomorrow, I'll paint and install the exhaust. Don't like the chrome look on them. Gundam white will be choice of color.

I'm not crazy about the kit supplied vinyl slicks... you know the type.... with the inserts for one side. Too much flash on the surface walls on the slicks. I've got replacement slicks but am concerned they're easily can pop out of the rim edges.

Frame is painted 80% before I finish the assembly of it. Interior will be a tan or dark sand color to match with the orange body.

No pics yet.

Cell phone ran out of charge before I could post images of the motor.

Concerning the body color of this kit. I’ve been thinking a lot about which orange color I want to go with. I do have some Hugger Orange but something about that shade doesn’t sit right in my eyes on a ‘54.

Since the kit came in orange sprues, I’ve decided to preserve the orange color of the sprues and body by spraying a couple of clear gloss on it. But first, I need to cut/trim out the rear wheel well as per instruction guide if building the gasser version. Yes, the cut guide is located on the inside of rear quarter panels

Once I’ve trimmed it out, the plan is to polish out the cut to a smooth surface. Similar process I do when removing center mold line on
F-16 Viper kits.

Super cool build. I love those gassers. This one is really awesome with the 348/409 and a blower. Yes please! This is looking very good. :shoutout:

Gloss clearcoat is on. I plan on putting 2 more coats of gloss clear then let it dry for a couple days.
