Yes indeed, your comment indeed came back as a high compliment. Academy kits are pretty good, and with a little extra work can be made into something much better. They give a great starting point.

Stuart, the Academy Honey Stuart in a Caunter scheme is is high on my intended to build list after this project. But I need a breather before that project. After all, it was you Brits who first took the M3 into combat in 1941, before the US even was in officially in the war

I didn't know that but I suppose it makes sense thinking about it. There were a few famous US aircraft such as the Wildcat that first saw combat with us Brits and the French, so tanks shouldn't be any different.

It's a distant project for me too! Far too many in front first.

Yes, quite a few Lend-Lease items went to war first under the Union Jack rather than under the Stars & Stripes. US made equipment went to war in Chinese hands (Curtiss Hawks & P-26s), Finnish hands (Brewster Buffalo), French hands (P-36 & DB-7/A-20), Commonwealth hands (more types than easily listed), and Soviet hands (P-39 & P-40) long before we officially entered the war in December 1941.
