Junkers F13 Floatplane 1:48 MiniArt

Post by KSaarni »

Finally I managed to finalize a build, cannot remember when I did it last time.. Probably in scale 1:48 it was the Wildcat back in 2022 and then the Kingfisher in scale 1:72 back in December 2023.

Needless to say, I'm really happy to finally finish this wonderful MiniArt Junkers F.13 Floatplane. It's been a long time since I've genuinely enjoyed building something from start to finish without losing interest even once along the way.

I did have to spend a few weeks planning and focusing on how to tackle the float gear construction, followed by a trip home to Finland for vacation. But other than that, it was pure enjoyment and a absolute pleasure to build!

Now I just need to keep my Mojo momentum alive and find the next subject!

But enough with the yada yada yada... Ladies and Gentlemen, please have a look at K-SALB in all its glory!

That’s a fabulous build. Good enough to go in a museum. Well done!

Excellent job. Such an interesting plane from a interesting era of transition. Really nice - I suggest you finish more models!
Thanks,
John

Beautiful build Kari! Those corrugated skinned aircraft had such a rugged look to them, and you really captured that here? :shoutout:

That is an absolutely cracking build Kari - just fab. It's been a joy to watch and it's great to see you building again. It's also a brilliant looking little aircraft, I can see me getting one of these kits at some point.

Kari, great finish. Definitely shows of the Junkers corrugated skin.

Wow! Very cool! That is an excellent looking little model. Nice to see these lesser known a/c and models. I love the corrugated skin look (must have been fun to decal and mask!). The wood prop is nicely done and adds a lot to the overall look IMO. Is the prop painted or decaled? Any way, I think this is a splendid build overall.
