Re: The Children of Doom
Hey Carlos,
A couple of your Albion tubes look a little funky. Maybe it’s just the angle. To prevent the brass tubing from crimping I’ll insert a drill bit in the interior. You should be able to reform a crimped tube using the same drill bit method.

Must be the angle, as the cutting went fine with zero problems on this session… unlike on others, where I have had bends and crimps.speedgraflex wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2026 3:20 pm Hey Carlos,

Nice Job resurrecting your razorback Carlos. I really like those early markings with the white cowl stripe and the super wavy paint demarcation line on the fuselage. The Jug markings sweet spot for me is the period from when standardized the national insignia to just the blue and white star through D-Day.

Re: The Children of Doom
Thanks Chris. This one is coming together well enough. And finally closing on the finish line! I’m with you on the early paint scheme and markings… when the Western Allies were trying to win air superiority over Western Europe and paying a steep price to do so.

Re: The Children of Doom
My latest update on this P-47 project…
I’ve added more weathering such as exhaust and gunpowder stains, dirt stains onto the tires and areas on the airframe that would get such stains kicked up by the tires… I also glued the navigation, ID, and landing light in place, removed the canopy masking… and added a bit of bare metal wear in appropriate areas…

Just about done now… got a busy next few days ahead with family stuff, so it will hopefully be wrapped up by the end of the weekend.

That looks great!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Not sure which aircraft had more sencils, a P-47 or a F-4 Phantom
