Dope in and of itself has a clear slight amber appearance. IIRC, it’s made from an extract of the banana plant. So when it’s applied to a linen made from un bleached cotton, it takes on that characteristic light beige/yellow color. When it applied to any dyed fabric, it will add that amber tone to the original base color.

Making progress - I've got the spats on (they needs seem work though), pilots and Lewis gun painted and fitted, tailplane fitted, and now I'm working on the clear parts. I'm using white glue to fit them just in case it all goes for a burton and I need to remove them.

I've also built the engine but I've not photographed that yet.

Cheers!

Looking very nice. I agree white glue is the way.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Looks like we are taking turns missing each other's posts Stuart :headslap:

Looks like a fun kit and an interesting subject. You are making good progress on it. I like how they did the fuselage frame. Keep up the good work my friend!
