Nice Stuart. Every time Pick up and old airfix kit, I am surprised how well they fit together.

Nice. A good looking craft.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Cheers! Me too, always a fan of some old Plastic - I still prefer them to modern short run kits.

Thanks Chris! Me too actually, and this one is really rather good. I'm not going to need a lot of filler on it.

Thanks Lyle!

So the cockpit is finished - not fantastic but it'll look OK under the canopy, which was the aim. It's all black anyway.

I also dry fitted everything, I'm so glad I did as I hadn't put enough nose weights in - I was trying some more of that tungsten putty that I had used in the P-39, but I'd not put enough in. So I added some more, and to be safe, added a few fishing weights in too - it needs a surprising amount this kit - it must be the long tail.

Having fitted some more weight, it's now currently drying after being glued together. Only one snag, I forgot to take into account the fit of the IP in the fuselage after I added a coaming. So I'll have to do some adjustments tomorrow.

Cheers!

Looking good!

Those belts looks very good and really nicely arranged on the seat.
Have you made them of lead or masking tape or ?

Stuart, I somewhat recently finished the Cyberhobby Mk.III. It took quite a bit of weight to get it to sit on its nose. Center of gravity over the main gear is very far forward

Thanks for the tip John, and yes I did indeed put a LOT more in the nose and behind the cockpit.

Thanks Kari - it was wine bottle foil (which is quite thick) stuck down with a bit of CA glue and then painted.
