So that’s what gout is. I have heard of it, but never heard the condition explained before. And I have never looked it up. Get well soon my friend!

Thanks Carlos - it took me a number of years before I knew what it was too - but it's pretty much cleared up now thanks. It's supposed to be a condition linked to high living and drinking lots of Port and Sherry, neither of which I do sadly!

Port and Sherry are extremely rare in my intake… now high living can describe many indulgences I do t think I have much risk for it by those guideposts at this point in my life

I've actually been suffering with it for about 10 years, maybe one attack a year. In the past I would be laid up for about three weeks with my foot swelled up, in constant pain and unable to walk much. Now that I finally know what it is, the pills from the doc's can get rid of it in a few days. It's actually caused by a build up of uric acid in the blood, which collects in a damaged joint in my right foot.
