Focke Wulf Fw 190 D-9 #500570

Post by Impisi »

OK, as ordered, some more images of this Focke Wulf Fw 190 D-9 number 500570 in 1/72 made by Italeri.

Number 500570 is a quite famous long nose 190. Aircraft 500570 was handed over to the Allies in Fürth, near Nuremberg, in May 1945. It was flown to the West to escape the Russians and then surrendered to the Americans.

The Italeri kit is a nice little kit.

Thanks a lot Gentlemen!
I'm doing a row of 1/72 190ies at the moment so this is just number 3 of 5. That scheme is quite good documented as the Americans took several pictures of it after it surrendered in Fürth. It is an quite long discussion among modellers of the color of the number "12" some say it is blue other it is black. I would tend to the blue party but the decals Italeri delivered were black, so it is black.

I'd say it is practicing free hand spraying :)
