This is what I have in mind under the kit paint scheme.

I've never tried this, but it should be fun.

Found this YouTube video on how to create a Patina look. Hope it helps.

Pearl is on and it laid down sweet. No issues at all. The Tamiya pearl white covered like a dream. I did 3 light and 3 medium coats on the sides and the roof is light on purpose. The hood and dash are extra light just so the blue has a white base to build from. Tomorrow I will mask off the red stripes and clear that, then shoot the red so I don't get any bleed through. More to come...

Painted the red stripes this weekend. My Tamiya Mica Red was a huge fail. The "new" can was sputtering and failed to spray even after warming it and cleaning the nozzle, so that went straight to the bin. Grabbed a bright red I has on the shelf and painted it with that. Given that I will be sanding and dulling this down it really doesn't matter. I'll mask off the blue next and get that done. Then I can start the distressing work.

The red looks good! Did you polish the white before hitting the red on top?

Nope. Just masked it off and shot the red. When she's all distressed out the errors will fit right in.

Blue is down and drying in the dehydrator. Looks pretty cool actually and the paint job is fast and not good and it still looks sick. I'll begin the weathering soon.
