Sad news.... the engine doesn't fit. I think all I'll need to do it take down the tops of the rocker arm covers. Shouldn't even be noticeable.

You might want to rethink that...maybe display the engine next to the plane as a stand-alone and drop the kit engine in with some details that can only be seen through the cowl opening???

...OR even go a step further and model the bird in a maintenance state with the engine removed...would add some research and work to the engine firewall but there is no way I'd cut that engine down to make it fit. Was it advertised to fit that kit?

I like Manny's ideas, too. Seeing that engine as such a build, it can certainly stand on its own. Maintenance would be a great way to display it in all its glory - kit engine could have some battle damage, etc.

But...as said, It is your build and will be outstanding with any choice.

Thanks for all the comments and ideas guys. Problem is I am as stubborn a a mule and once I get an idea in my head it's a fight to ge me to change my mind. Ask my wife This is going to be hammered in the if need be I don't think it's going to take much to get it to fit.

i do like the museum vignette and now that I know all the mistakes I made doing this one, I'll give it another go. I'll get another one the next time I have a need to place an order. Need? Yeah, like I need any of this. It's all WANT!

Started working on the exhausts by drilling them out so the pipes walls were scaled to 3/8" thick. No putty needed and just a few wipes with a sanding stick was all that was needed for the fuselage.

Good you don't let your self irritate by such a negligibility. This is an epic build!
