Stik, Kerry run into trouble having written a lot of text and posted many pictures only to see all pictures being gone after having hit the submit button... But hopefully things are sorted now thanks to the input of Airfixer and the gang.

Thank you Thomas, I WAS feeling a bit on my own out here in OZ with the loss of all my input to the post I was creating.

But with all the support and encouragement to try again, and now that it has been explained to me about bandwidth, and the 'structuring' of the posts, all my worries have been resolved.

No blame appointed anywhere or at any one, as I just have to measure my excitement and enthusiasm for my hobby.

SP, Your compliment on my build is most generous and I am grateful for your support, thank you very much.

I have just posted a reply dealing with the question you and Thomas have just mentioned here about my bitter disappointment on loosing all the images I had uploaded from Photobucket to the post I was creating on my Horten 229 build.

Thankfully, I have been reassured that I must try again and come back to the fold of a happy 'band of brothers'.

The NPF (natural plywood finish) is very tempting and I'm contemplating how to replicate the puttied joints.
Priming, base coat, wood grain decals, a coat of clear gloss to seal and protect them from later sanding, puttying the panel joints, etc.

If I can make a suggestion on how to make the joints of the plywood sheets your going to replicate look like they have been "Puttied", but in actual fact it was a "Glue" line.

I could recommend getting hold of the Artists acrylic 'paint pens' that have an extremely fine tip, and they come I a rainbow of colours, and even though I didn't use one on the panel joints of the 229, and why is because, it was where the two sheets of the wood decal film i applied, overlapped each other a fraction on each panel I did as a separate /individual item, and that helped create the 'darker' line in the panel line grove, like it was the glue line.

After I applied the coat of clear acrylic, I ran a 1600 grit sanding film over the lot to leave behind that semi-gloss look.

As for the first coat of paint that will be the one that will accentuate the 'grain' of the decals, I used a very diluted covering of 'Radome', as this colour will bring the 'wood' look that is as natural as when you go to your local building supplies store and buy a sheet of 3ply as it comes from the manufacturer.

the Uschi decal sheets actually come in 1/48 grain, meaning the look is a lot finer and more compact.

The sheets are translucent, (Almost see through) and extremely soft and thin, so exercise extreme care.
