The Ki-44 should be the next step from the Ki-43, but was not so good, not powerful and with weapons of a longer range, so the have near dogfights. The fuselage is big in the front and very small behind the cockpit, so it looks fast.
The Hasegawa kit is good and fine detailed, but the decals are not thin as nomal today.
Looks good to me! The Ki-44 was something akin to the P-43 or P-47 in design- a bomber interceptor with time to climb it's primary design spec, and firepower/hitting power against bombers its' second concern, as opposed to the Ki-43 and Ki-84 with dogfighting being it concern.
