Hasegawa F-4G Weasel

Yep...I'm addicted. To Phantoms. So I started the F-4G kit from Hasegawa and will never regret it. This kit fits together beautifully! The standard grinding of the Aires cockpit is no big deal, no gaps at the nose inserts or fuselage halves. The wing halves fit together like a glove. Here's the full meal:



We have Aires pit, exhaust, Brassin wheels, Superscale decals, Two Bobs missle markings (For the Harms), and Master pitot tube.





Gonna try and use some old SuperScale decals for Night Stalker/Spangdalhem:



Got the pit primed and painted a light version of Dark Gull Gray:





Intakes painted gloss white before I glue them on:



Removing molded detail and bumps that don't belong:





Gonna use the pylons from the True Details set. They are better than the kit ones. I'm gonna need the outers cause I plan on a 4 Harm AGM 88 load with a centerline tank, and 2 Sidewinders. 2 Harms will come from the Hase weapons set C, the other 2 will have to come from an Eduard Brassin set. Still trying to source an ALQ-184 jamming pod

Wolfpack made some ALQ-184 pods. If you don't find an US source there is a recommendable German retailer mentioned in the link (Aero-Spezial). Ordered there a dozent times.

Thanks for following along Mostrich. I tend to change my mind often on marking schemes. I hope I end up doing a SP phantom! Unfortunately the Wolfpack pod is out of stock all across the world...I checked. I might just have to buy the Hasegawa Weapons set E, but I don't have much need for all the other stuff in that set

Yes its about time someone released new wild weasel F-4 decals. If my super scale set ends up falling apart I'll be using the ones from Speed hunter. I used their Hill Gray stencils on my F-4D and was happy. The Aires pit is fitting just fine. The usual sanding of the fuselage halves, but not much sanding needed of the resin parts themselves. Didn't have any issues on my last Phantom build either.

No issues at all. I sanded the top of the gear bay a little bit. Thats all. I have seen the Eduard Harms. I'll be buying some, because I plan to load it out with 4 Harms, and a centerline tank. I only have 2 Harms from the Hase weapons set. I like that the Eduard set includes pylon adapters and decals

When did the Harm-88 come into service? This kit might have been before its time, hence Hasegawa giving you a Shrike and AGM-78s, (and ALQ-119), along with the Euro scheme. Just a thought.
