The Duke Completes Another Aircraft

Post by Duke Maddog »

Ladies and gentlemen, I have managed to finish yet another of the New Years Resolution models that was on my list.

This is the Hasegawa Iranian F-4E Phantom II that just got finished this past weekend. As always, it ain't no award-winning model but I'm very, very pleased with this one:

As usual, this has no weaponry on it as Hasegawa has decided not to include any in the kit. I'm guessing they want you to buy more of their Aircraft weapons sets. Once I can find some Sidewinders I'll add then to this model. Until then, she is now done.

Thanks for looking in, comments are welcome.

Great color scheme. As for weapons, you can get very creative with an Iranian Phantom. They fit Russian weapons, Hawk missiles and Iranian developed weapons like the Kite cluster bomb under their Phantoms.

Hasegawa in my humble opinion were the only model maker to get that beautiful classic "Snout" of the Phantom right.

The droop look was always the 'thing' that got the Phantom it's 'appeal' factor, and to me it is still the most :grunty " looking war bird in the world, bar none.

You have done justice to that appeal, just wonderful to see.

Cheers. :-)

You absolutely can and you should. Great work on the camo. Brush painted as usual, I suppose?

Thanks for the wonderful replies guys! Such replies keep me more motivated to keep going. Roo, for all the problems with Hasegawa Phantoms, you are right; they did get the nose right. I agree, the Phantom II is so ugly it's beautiful!

Mostrich, thanks. This camo was airbrushed on, all three colors. I masked it off with Silly Putty between colors; you can see the work in my Maddog Manufacturing 2014 Thread.

Thanks again for the awesome replies guys!
