Okay, I'm back from the Nationals and finally have some time to start posting some things. First off, here's my latest additions to my Trophy Case.

I took two Third Place awards: One in OOB Small Scale Softskins and one in Small Scale Tracked Vehicles, Post Korean War. The one in Post Korean War was expected as I was only up against one two other contestants. It was for the 1/72 scale Russian TOS-1 MRLS:

The other Third Place winner in OOB Small Scale Softskins was a complete and total surprise. I was up against at least 12 other contestants and the model I placed int hat category was the one that was most broken up by the trip. I had to take it back home and effectively rebuild it. I never expected that to even be considered.

My other Third Place winner: 1/72 scale SS-21 Topol Nuclear Missile Launcher:

Overall, I'm still surprised and pleased at this outcome. It was far beyond my expectations. I had a great time at the Nationals.

Thanks Carlos! It was quite the fight to win these. Man, the competition was really stiff!!

You're in California right? Did you drive these kits up there, or put them on a plane?
Thanks Jim! And neither: I took the Amtrak train to Columbus. I wouldn't trust Dora, my Saturn V and my other 24 models to the TSA's 'velvet' handling... :chair:

Congrats, Duke. Well deserved.

Thanks guys!

I appreciate that Lyle. It was a very stiff competition.

Thanks Jim! Yeah, a lot of people do forget the train. It is fun and relaxing for the most part and things travel better too. Although I did have some issues with some baggage handlers at the end of the trip that did break some of my models. One in particular (the Topol) was broken up really bad. I am amazed it placed after having been put back together.
Thanks again!

Well, I got back from Orangecon yesterday where I was able to pick up a lot of things I had bought before, but did not pay for. My friend brought them in so now I can complete even more of my Russian Armored Trains. I also picked up two more models that were pretty good deals, along with some accessories and stuff awarded in the raffle.

But the real highlight of the day was getting four awards! That was a surprise beyond anything I could have imagined!

Here they are...

I got a Second Place in Ships; 1/451 and Larger with my German V-105 WWI torpedo boat:

Then I got a Third Place in Small Scale Wheeled Vehicles with my Mack Tank Transporter with FT-17 tank:

Then I got a Third Place in one of the splits: Sci-Fi, Star Wars Only, for my Finemolds Y-wing fighter:

And finally, I got a Third Place in the other part of that split: Real Space for my Saturn V Rocket:

Man, I'm stunned! That's the first time I've ever taken that many awards home from an Orangecon! WOW!!!

Later on I'll try to post all my latest scores. Meanwhile, thanks for looking in, comments are welcome.

You have done well, Maddog hopper. You have learned and all that crap...This is great work and well deserving of the awards. We may have to build another cabinet.
