What can be said about the kit. I've built many. In my opinion, its still the best F thru K 109 in this scale, or perhaps I'm just used to it. It could use a cockpit upgrade, or at least some PE in there. This one got a CMK cockpit (which was provided along with the kit) and it was a challenge to fit. In future I'll stick with True Detailsor PE here. I added Ultracast wheels and Quickboost exhausts. The markings were a mixture of Superscale and the kit. For added realism I drilled out the motorkannon and MG barrels, added wire to gear legs, and made a new DF loop from fine wire. The kits's instructions have the drop tanks deleted, so apparently the K was void them. My research said Bodenplatte JG 77 planes had them, so I added one.
The paint was RLM 81/82 over 76 in Gunze Aqueous. This was unusual for me as I'm used to the 74/75 over 76. It's weird seeing a green 109. I'm pleased with how it turned out. This was my first attempt at replicating European ground in the winter. I did it in my usual manner then added some Woodland Scenics Snow I bought the other day. To make it look less powdered sugar-like, I sprayed the white with gloss to simulate wetness. I still wanted a donut afterwards,so I may go back and dirty it up more.
That's it. Comments welcome.
