Here is the latest post. did the photo shoot last week. had a hard time accessing my Flickr account (where the photo resides) so I was only able to share with you all today.



Very happy that the project came out as I expected, as some of you know, I am new into the forays of 1/32 scale. this is my second build. there are just so many challenges, and things to explore and learn. very exciting!



The "Bat" decals on the fin was almost disastrous. Lots of clear carrier film... and I need to take them out. How do I cut it out and leave the "bat" while keeping everything intact?? So I cut off the clear carrier film immediately AFTER the decal are placed on the vertical stabilizer. it was slow.. I was getting cold sweat.... and I nearly ruined it. I should have done it differently, shouldn't I?



The model measures around 41cm in length. This Sufa received very light weathering. I did not use any pre-shading on the camouflage. Instead i use a simple lighter color post-shade (sort of what Doogsmodel's preached "Three Layer Blend" but not quite like his). If I had to do this again... I would prefer to mask the "no-step" lines on the wings rather than relying on the decals (that Academy provided).



70-80 percent of the build was done in Surabaya (where I work), a city 800 Km east of Jakarta (my hometown, where my family lives). And before it was completed, I had to move back hometown (got a new job contract). So I tried to finish the last leg of the project at home. It was REALLY hard to get the jive back to finish it.



Academy gave enough weapons to make three F-16!! So I thought this was the most interesting mix... which includes an AIM-120 AMRAAM, Phython-3, and GBU-12 Paveway II. These weapons are just like a kit of their own.. with multiple parts and a complete set of decals. what about the leftovers? Well the go to my spare box... any ideas what to do with them??

Everything is OOTB.. with the exception of part of the seat harness. the surface detail is just exquisite and almost have a perfect it, except the avionic hump and comformal fuel tank (CFT) which requires extra putty. The other disappointment was not being able to do a clear + tinted canopy, like the reference pictures I got. I have tried, but failed. and the reason.. is that I SHOULD have done the tinting early BEFORE any masking and so forth.

When I saw the first picture, I could have sworn I was looking at a real plane. Even the next two pics made me think that still. So, for someone who has only done two of these large scale planes; you are truly a gifted and masterful modeler with skills far beyond mine.

Jim - You are absolutely right.. it takes greater effort, resources to work on a 1/32 scale... even to make all of it look right... not to mention making it look great. I have bought a few more 1/32 scale kits and will continue to train my skills on these examples.

Duke - thank you! I do like to play around with some flare of optical illussion, when its possible. Just for the kick of it. The photo set up is pretty much a four light-set up, plus one near the camera. A printed background and my base. The lens I used was a fix 35mm on an EOS5D. I set up the ISO to 200, depth of field at f/22 while shutter speed at 1 second.
