I use a particle mask when sanding. I use a spray booth when painting, even though I use Acrylics now, I already had one from my Enamel days, so it is easy to continue, just flip the switch.

I also use latex gloves, but not so much to protect my hands, mostly to protect the models. I have had plenty of models over the years that the FBI could have used to ID the modeler that built them,,,,,,,,better fingerprints on them that if they lifted a print from my keyboard, lol.

I had to train myself to use paint stands and gloves,,,,,,back in my early days I would just hold a bomb in my fingers and spray Enamel Olive Drab on them,,,,so, you could tell if I was painting bombs or airframes based on the pretty colors my hand was painted.

Just a thought, but I don't think even Acrylic paint particulates would be all that pleasant for a person after years of breathing those into our lungs.

The only safety device I use is a paint booth directed by hose out the window. If I'm painting with a rattle can its either outside or in the garage. Besides that it was no helmets when riding bikes, back of pickups, drinking out of a garden hose, throwing rocks at the neighbor kids, dirt clod fights in the field behind the house...and I'm still here!

I have a spray booth that I use for painting. Priming gets done in the garage cause it stinks!

I will use a mask and gloves when working with resin cause that stuff itches!!
