Thanks Lyle! On the screwdriver.....I don't think so. A good technician always keeps a spare.

:hmm: and I was worried that I get obsessed over small details.... :giggles:

The door is a serious piece of miniature work. As is everything else so far :shoutout:

I really appreciate that stik! I guess that's what takes me so long to build these things is all the thought process that goes into figuring problems like this out along the way. I can never just leave a kit alone pertaining to upgrades and mods and it sometimes takes forever to figure out how to make it all "click". I've been almost 9 months on this bad boy.

Here's the fire extinguisher all assembled , primed and ready for paint.

and.....it took four times to get the paint right on this but here the hood is. The reflection you see is my hand holding the camera. I left the picture unmodified so you could make the flames out in the paint. It's just the look I was after.

Yeah...................I can live with this...........

Sweet shine on the paint :shoutout:

I hear ya bout figuring out things as a project moves along. I have had more than a few of those myself where they take far longer than originally intended to complete due to that sort of thing.

Thanks stik! Have you ever reached a point in modeling where you're just confident enough to be dangerous? It's happening to me here on this build I'll tell you that. I started out with the body and hood paint and the hood didn't turn out just right so I dunked the hood in the brake fluid and pressed on with the body and the rest of the build thinking "Hey, I'll just catch up with the hood on down the road in this build. Through a lot of persistence I've got the body about where I want it and the hood has progressed through 4 paint jobs to get to where it is now. Here's the problem though and I'll add a pointer in there to anybody willing to tackle an automotive project with separate pieces....paint everything TOGETHER. The hood is a different shade of red than the rest of the truck. Not by much , but it's noticeable. I'm going to end up trying to polish this thing out and see where I stand after ALOT of buffing. The "look" that I was after in the beginning of this build has taken form so I'm very happy with that so far but I'll tell you, this hood ordeal has really got me in a perplexed state right now.

The pics: (the roughness at the front of the hood isn't a big deal as I'll buff it all out. If you look close enough you'll see the shade difference)

I missed the registration decals on the license plate. So............

I cut some out and will apply these tomorrow morning:

As for the fire extinguisher I've got that underway as well. In looking at the pictures it looks like I need a light wash to bring out the detail where the nozzle area is. I'll be taking care of that tomorrow as well. I BMF'd the retaining straps this morning and folks I'll tell you this. Trimming BMF is one thing but when you're doing it on a magnet and it keeps wanting to pull the X-Acto blade towards the magnet it makes it that much more difficult. By having a drill bit in the bottom of the extinguisher I was able to hold the extinquisher still while making the cuts. Anyways here we are so far with that...

And the registration decals are on.............................

Image

The top of the plate is a little uneven but there aint no way to see it with normal vision. I need 1.5x corrected vision normally and I couldn't tell with the glasses on. I did some more work on the passenger door hinges as far as paint goes but progress was a little slow this morning.
