The Duke Completes Two More Armor

These are two of the three models I completed this week. The first one is IBG's 1/72 scale Diamond T cargo truck. It was a tough build but looks pretty good when finished. I painted this with Testor's Model Master colors and weathered it with Tamiya weathering powders I'd found when cleaning my desk some time back. I had them; I figured I might as well use them.

The weathering doesn't show too well in these pics, but here she is ready for the shelf:





And a shot of the cargo bed:



The next model I finished was the Trumpeter T-54B tank. I added the machine gun on top, painted this with Testor's Model Master paints and weathered with the Tamiya weathering powders as well. Here she is; the weathering showing up slightly better in these pics:







Well, that's all I have for today. These two bring me up to 677 completed small scale vehicles. Thanks all for looking in, comments are welcome.

Hi Duke,

I rarely comment to your builds 'cause I'm not that deep into armour. But I really like those army trucks and other odd looking vehicles you're constantly adding to your collection. Love to see all of them!

If I have any critic, it's your pictures. They're a bit overexposed. I did a little "post production" to show you how they could look like with nearly no extra effort:


Here's a video of a great guy who shows how to make nice model pics without expensive equipment or deeper knowledge of photography. The secret is indirect lighting:


Hope I'm not sounding offensive, it's not meant that way at all. I just think you could do your little gems more justice by presenting them through better pictures.

Thanks Torben! I agree, my editing of my pics could have been done better. I probably also should pic a better background for these as well. I do use the indirect lighting already; I just made everything a bit too bright when I was adjusting things. My pics tend to turn out very yellow too, so I always have to bring in a bit of blue to balance things better; sometimes I succeed, sometimes I don't.

I'll try better next time.
