This made me laugh out loud. Good one Thomas!

I've been taking a few pictures as I've worked on this...Still on step one. Eduard makes interesting kits, for sure. But, why are parts the size of sub-atomic particles I've scratched as best I could two parts and had to replace several of the little "sticks" they use for levers. Their locating marks are somewhat nebulous or almost nonexistent....But, still a fun kit so far. Nothing I could not deal with. I'll try to get pictures up a bit later.

Snowing today....4" likely. The nice part is I don't have to go out in it. My wife has been very sick for a week or so and I've been fighting something, so staying in is a plus. Districts cancelled school. Four inches isn't much, but when you have over 900 school busses on the road moving some 80,000 kids, it can get dicey. That's my JCPS.

Here are a few pictures. Not much to show. I've now glued he IP in place, oh.....maybe 4-5 times? I also have to go looking for the control stick. Fortunately, I have several strands of stretched sprue I can use to make one.

They just seem to over engineer things to me.







and, above notice the little bitty decals...especially #56...about the size of 1/2 a grain of rice, white and I can barely see it with a magnifier...Ain't gonna be used.





And, that is all there is after about 3 days of effort. . . and both my wife and I being under the weather.

And still trying to get the IP to grab...however, my fingers a sticking nicely....to the table, knife, keyboard, and made the mistake of "rubbing my nose"....ouch

Lyle, do you use some tweezers and a magnifier? Some fine pointed good quality tweezers should come handy when working with such small parts and decals. What glue do you use?

The good part about no school, is my wife (with snow, me, too!) have to go get Ella on the bus around noon. Her preschool time is 12:30 to 4, I think. So, we don't have to get out and fight knuckleheads. There are also a lot of very lightly traveled back roads in my county and the one we must travel to for Ella, about 15 miles (25km?). Supposed to get up to 6" more on Friday. We are going to Cincinnati tomorrow for Ella's surgery and meeting my college roomie for dinner. Hope we get back before it all hits. Our whiney butt society will complain if they cancel school or if they don't, but like I said, they have about 900 school busses that haul kids all over the county .... literally. Some of those drivers are not the sharpest crayon in then box.

I have a magnifying lamp, my readers and somewhere in my mess, magnifying glasses. Not had much luck with those. I need to buy some new tweezers. What I have is mediocre at best. For most of those really small parts, I've started using a dab of Gorilla Glue Gel CA. That seems to work pretty well.

Even though Eduard does seem to use a lot of pieces, there are times they fit as good as anything. I guess they fit like they should
- the under wing light. Had a punch of just the right size to mask it
- the leading edge scoops
- nose weight
- closed fuselage

Pretty impressive.





cockpit. I still have to glue the gun sight in place. . .If I don't forget.

If they fit tiny parts are no problem. Looks like a fun build.

Lyle, I would suggest to get some anti-magnetic tweezers, too. I have such on my bench. There always is an opportunity for those.
Do you use Tamyia´s Extra Thin Cement?

Great looking build Lyle - I've always liked P-39's but you don't see that many built. You've mad a grand start on it.
