The Production Line

Man, it's great to see this Production Line back up and running! I love the Tu-22 and the Tu-16. I tried a technique on my Tu-22 to add a different color metallic to mine: I painted select panels black before I shot an overall coat of silver/metallic over my plane. It was quite subtle, but it can be seen.

Your Tu-16 looks magnificent! I want to pull mine out and make it Iraqi as well. I'll have to look into starting mine sometime later this year. I also have a third one to make Egyptian to do; maybe I'll do both at the same time.

Nice looking pancake! I love the extra decals. Your idea for cutting out the slots was brilliant.

Way to go man, I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Working on a murder of Blackbirds:

Started five blackbird models this weekend. Four at 1/72 scale and one 1/48 scale YF-12 with no instructions or decals. No biggie as I have extras of both from older kits I have built of this aircraft.





Working on the cockpits right now. nothing real exciting except for the 1?48 scale plane. I am modifying the seats to be a little more like the actual seats. I have resin seats for 1/48 scale SR-71, nit going to use those on the YF-12 though, saving them for a special blackbird build I am doing later.
Here is a picture of the base seat, one partially modified and the resin:



I plan to have fun with the 1/72 stuff. The YF-12 will remain a YF-12. One of the SR-71 will be a "What if" based on a picture of a wind tunnel model I found:



Another will be an AWACS version, posted in the news from an airshow on April 1st:



And another will be a ESR-71 jammer aircraft. I am adding 2 more seats to the aircraft and a under slung "canoe" like the one on a EF-111 to the belly of the plane.

...I think last picture it's a fake or just a perspective effect.. on the left and right of the sr-71 seems that are the E-3 awacs engines

I think you may be right BsYamato; however, I still think that if he pulls it off, it could make for a cool conversation piece! Nothing like using that ole imagination! I love what-if builds!
Thats a lot of Blackbird you got going on there wedfactory! Looking forward to seeing these come to life!

Not the first ones I have built.



The SR-71 at the bottom right is now on display at the USS Lexington in Texas. The unmarked one at the top of the picture is my modification of a SR-71 into the CIA's A-12 version. I had to modify the nose into a more pointed nose and remove the second seat. I missed moving the refueling port back on the model but oh well.

Never done a SR-71 kit but what you've done is amazing work!

Brilliant work on all these. Way to go! I think I have an SR-71 in the stash somewhere. I think I bought it to re-do better than my original one. I'll add it to the list of models to start this year.
