Since I can't seem to paint a simulated wood grain to save my life, I decided to try my hand at carving some. I tried different materials and techniques, but these are the five best ones I was able to create. The problem is, I like 3 of them the best, so I decided to post them here, and let you guys choose the one you like best.
Thanks Jim. They do make wooden props, at least 2 companies that I can think of, but for some odd reason, I just felt like I had to try. Trust me, had it been a 4-blade, I would have thrown in the towel!
There is a distributor, (name escapes me at the moment), besides Aviattic, that specializes in WWI aircraft AM parts, such as Gaspatch turnbuckles, wooden props, Taurus resin details, etc...
My next WWI aircraft, I will order stuff from them. I enjoyed the fabrication, but was much more time consuming than I had anticipated.
