SPAM REVIEW - 1/48 Revell PT-17 Stearman WIP

Post by Handiabled »

Hello All! I am building this newly tooled kit in a review/wip fashion, any questions please feel free to ask! This will be an oob build with no added scratch so you can see what you get if you decide to build. At an under 20$ price tag it is very reasonable. Thanks Lyle for the leap of faith,,,, I hope I do justice to this build....A large thanks as well too Revell for providing SPAM the chance to do this...

First off a shot of the sprues for the kit, most of the parts look like a pretty easy release from the trees. There isn't a hint of flash on any of the parts.

Now for some of the downers of the kit at first glance. The ip is lacking much detail at all making the decal pretty much your only option.

This picture really needs no caption.....

Some ejector marks but nothing to really worry over.

On the flip side there is some nicely detailed areas of the kit.

Here is where I will be starting, some progress pictures to come soon,, as always Thanks for lookin!! :D

Brent, I like this kit. I bought three of them. No reason. Looking forward to the build. Thanks to Revell for the sample!

Easy, pal. You could get the half finished 1/24 MPC Mustang...Dang which box is that in?

After 5 rounds with the box knife, roll of clear tape and a box or two....it will be in the mail tomorrow.

Did I mention I have three? I know that Brent will do this right IF Herman leaves him alone. Hmmm, wonder what a Stearman would look like with Luftwaffe markings?

We'll see how badly you want one when Brent is done! I hear this is a nice build all around, and has very few issues. Jim, now that the grass is cut, the house needs painting....
