1:48 Polikarpow I-153 Chaika

Post by Cherrylock »

For a long time the Classic airframe kit was the only kit i know, so buyed one started and ...it is on the shelf since years , shame on me,..ICM made a new and excelent kit, with and with out ski, very good details, no fit problems and 2 diffent typs of bombs and russian mini rockets.
I buyed the ski variant, because I find a review and the were markings for the finnish capured aircraft, I ad the fuel droptanks from stash.

Buyed the kit on Tuesday and finished on Friday, so there was noooooo problem :dancing:

Great to see a Finnish fighter! Great build!

This particular plane, with the marking IT-15, was captured from the Russians in the 105 days long winter war 1939-1940.
Flew the last time 24th of February 1945, was written off finally in January 1950. Total flying hours (in Finnish service), 208,5 hrs.
No victories

Below IT-15 together with other war captures..

Very nice! I hope one of the mainstream model companies comes out with one in 1/48.

Well done CL! I like the Finnish scheme myself. 1/48 scale? Pfffttt.. how about in 1/32 scale?! That would be an awesome build.

thanks friends for the comments.

here is the Classic Airframe kit with Pilot from sparebox, ICM bombs and wheel doors. Not a good kit, not the best details and fun with fit...good to have finished the build
