Two Aircraft from the Duke

Post by Duke Maddog »

Hey all,

Been a rough month, but I've managed to finish a few models.

I'll start with this Airfix 1/72 scale F-51 Mustang. I'd gotten it at the IPMS Columbus Nationals as a raffle prize and started it at Columbus with my nephews. Later on, when I got home; it appeared I'd left the instruction sheet behind. Sometime later, I bought a second kit and proceeded to finish this one.

Here it is:

This second model is a Revell 1/48 scale Stearman biplane I got to do a review here on these Forums. I have since completed it sans rigging, which I may do later. Right now, I just need to finish the review typing and get it posted later.

Here it is:

That's all for now. They ain't perfect, but I enjoyed them and am pleased to have them in my collection.

I also have more finished models in the Armor and Ships Forums as well. Feel free to check them out.

Thanks all for looking in, comments are welcome.

Two beauties there Mark! I cant say which I like more! Korean War Birds are a favorite of mine for personal reasons, but that Stearman just takes me back to local air shows and seeing them fly out of what used to be Meadowlark Field here in HB... One day I will ride in one of those things... Great work my friend!

Thanks Carlos! I appreciate that very much. I do hope you get the chance to fly in one of those Stearmans. I'd love to do the same thing. Hopefully you'll be able to see these in person someday.

Well, if you bring them to IPMS or AMPS this month or next month, I should be there :hmm:

Both are great builds Duke. Nice color schemes, the civil Stearman is especially interesting.

Great planes Duke!

I like especially the P-51D, glad you could eventually find the missing instruction sheet!

Those are two masterpieces! Eager to see the WIP/Build thread on the Stearman so I can forward to Revell.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Thanks for the compliments guys! I appreciate it very much. Kari, I had to buy another kit of the Mustang and use the instruction sheet inside it to finish mine.

Lyle, I'll try to get it posted this week soonest.
