This is my Academy 1/32 Sopwith Camel. This was a struggle for a number of reasons. I tried very hard to use little more than what was in the box. That being said, next time I will use EZ line and my own turnbuckles, add a few pieces of styrene for vision blocks, and probably pin the cabanes, (struts), in place. The holes in the wings supposed to help with alignment were at least 1-2mm larger than the strut. Too much slack, which caused numerous frustrating issues as I attempted to attach upper & lower wings. The alignment of fuselage halves was tolerable, but required some filling and sanding on top to make the seam even.
The only details I added, for the most part, was Uschi wood decals over a red-brown to simulate wood around the cockpit, and a hand carved (by me), prop with scratch built prop hub plate.
I will have to redo the engine shroud, however. Some sort of loss of motor control, a can of compressed air, and a few drops of oil stain made for quite the mess.
And here's the WWI flying ace, waiting to take to the air. Now where's that prop gone off to?
