The Cuban scrapyard | MiG 21 R | Eduard, 1/48

Post by tigrazor »

Hello there.

Some weeks ago, I stumbled upon this picure while I was doing some research for the MF build:

Image

Immediately, I was hooked. Knowing that my LHS had a "R" in his shop, I had to have one too. Of course this build will be a bit more complicated than the MF, heres what I got for her:

-Eduard MiG 21 surface panels
-Aires cockpit
-Eduard MiG 21 accessories
-AeroBonus Soviet weapon cart
-Revell ladder
-Tamiya barrel
-MK35 figures (recycled from another diorama)
-and of course a lot of lead wire.

;)

Image

The build of the diorama was done last week and took me some days, including the preparation of self made palm leaves. The MiG on the dio is the actual MF version. MiG MF on the diorama for showing the dimensions - will be replaced of course. ;)

Pictures say more than a thousand words...

Looks like a lot of "scrap" work in front of you. Are you going to show all that inner wing structure?

Probably not, but there will be a lot of open maintenance doors etc. The Eduard kit is brilliant, but a bit wrong when you want to leave out the seat for example (flat underneath). Thats why I want to use the Aires cockpit - it has a round floor just like its meant to be.
