I love the inspiration you've found! Following this one for sure.

Following Tigs theme..
Here a recent scrapyard picture of a Finnish Mig 21Bis that has been literally thrown on a scrapyard in Helsinki city. I understood the engine has been removed (and some other parts as well).
Looks somehow sad to see this sort of ends for aircrafts.

Seems there is kept too many used Mig-21's, not only in museums or other spaces, but also in shops etc.. All this in the small country of Finland..tigrazor wrote:Oh noes.![]()

It costs also "public" cash to keep them in good shape, something that is expensive now...
Of course, in 50 years time we all ask, how stupid were we "throwing away" these fighters...

Back when I was regularly looking through Trade-a-plane adds...I'd see Mig-21 (and others) for around $25-30,000...in airworthy condition...and including another airworthy engine and a ton of extra parts. Half the price of a new car...but it'd cost ya $1000 an hour to quench its thirst!

Yup, Mig's are not exactly high end cost wise...Fermis wrote:Back when I was regularly looking through Trade-a-plane adds...I'd see Mig-21 (and others) for around $25-30,000...in airworthy condition...and including another airworthy engine and a ton of extra parts.
