no the navy is not a fake, it was used for carrier landing trainings and this special one is a rear gunner trainings a/c, found in the signal squadron dokumentation, the basic is the T-6D only include in the Monogram kit.

That's interesting CL - I didn't know they used them for that.

All these builds are great - what would you say was the best kit?

a squadron book helped building the differnd kits.

The best kit, if you build a Texan with a fuselage gun or a rear gunner the Monogram is the only kit with this parts, check the referene, the took this early often for export.

I you prefer a T-6G is is your choose, cockpit is the same, Monogram has raised riveds and panels, Ocidental/Italeri engraved, but without rivets, both have gun pods and rocket pods.
The biggest different is the decal sheet, Italeri has 2 differnt packings for a lot of different colorful aircrafts, Revell/Monogram has less but some nice ones..

if you find one for less money, buy and build, you can not loose and show us
