Following your 109 build really makes me wanting to start building once more an Eduard 109..

First I started to build the E-1, did not finish.. scrapped.. this back in 2012
Then the G-6, did not finish it either... scrapped.. this back in 2014

Perhaps 3rd time would be the right time ... :-)

Super job on the paint! Aeromaser colors? Man I wish that paint line was still around. Those were damn good paints with a good wide line of colors.

The temp reached 41C here during the week. The loft where I build is not properly insulated so no work up there as it was a balmy 38C! Snow would be a blessing but not like how you describe it!

Kari, I really like the Eduard kits (despite some of the criticisms, the E series is almost perfect IMHO) and enjoy the build.

Yeah Aeromaster paints. These came out whilst I was in my modelling hiatus so I missed them. I managed to grab a bundle of bottles from EBay before they really cracked down on shipping them. They are great enamels to spray.

I have added the RLM 80 splotches using Aeromaster Warbirds enamels, well thinned and sprayed. I am really happy with the hirizontal stabilises and wings, the fuselage is a bit out of kilter. I think I got a bit tired and rushed it. However, it will do for this run:

The Germans used some odd colour combinations in the African theater. Looks like a desert dappled with bushes.

It certainly is, although in hindsight (always wonderful) I would have marked the positions of the fuselage and wing markings with tape so I could better place the splotches. Ah well, next time!

Happy 2017! I think I have FINALLY got the RLM 80 splotches to the point I am happy with it! Moving on has been bits and pieces in preparation for the gloss coat. I have detailed the MG17 gun bay and a test fit of the MG 17 showed the port one was fine but the starboard one would not seat properly, being about 1 mm too far forward. The rear end of the MG fouls the instrument covering and I will need to carve a "groove" or fold in the material to allow the MG to sit properly:





The splotches of what I take to be RLM 63 light grey on either side of the fuselage have also been added:





My attention then turned to the underside, with the PE radiator and oil cooler flaps added their respective positions:





The rudder control wires and guide horns, horizontal stabilisers and supports were added in that order and fixed in position after ensuring they were true:







Lastly, the MGFF barrels were inserted in their openings and set to their correct protruding length using the handy scale plan that comes in the Master Barrel set. The antenna mast was then set into position atop the rear cockpit:





Now I think I am ready for gloss coating!
