Many years ago, there was an FAA guy here in Louisville who was a really neat guy. Heard him tell a story about a taxi accident with a DC-3. The pilot (never was sure if it was him or not!) hit the brakes too hard and it nosed over. Well, the press showed up and began asking their usual "informed" questions..."Can you tell us what happened?" To which he replied, "Yessir, The nosewheel collapsed."

Guess how it was reported.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

I'm curious Lyle. Where do you buy your flashbulbs? They're hard to find around here... :grin:

At the garden shop. they gots a lot of bulbs. That, or I cut the plug off a lamp, strip the ends of the wires and when I'm ready, stuff it in the socket. Works most of the time.

A bit of a rant, so, pardon me.

There are days that I hate this hobby with every fiber in my body. Of course, there are way more days I enjoy it a lot. (was going to say immensely but I could not spell it). Perhaps, "hate" is too strong of a word. Maybe, "rot in the 32nd level of Hell, burning in eternal flame" would be nicer.

Today? More like the first statement. The navigator's observation dome just fell out. Had it in hand. Not it is gone. Putting some tape on the fuselage to hold it together...POOF, the tailwheel is gone. Missing as well. Sheesh.

I wonder if tequila is a good sub for coffee?

Irish whiskey mixes very well with coffee. As does Kalua.... sorry to hear about the rough spots. I know that feeling all to well. That usually ends up causing a sidelining as well as a step away from the bench to let the frustration die down. I'm sure the missing parts are nearby. The trick is to find them without stepping on them first...

found the obs dome. it is firmly ( I hope) in place. still looking for the tailwheel piece. Fuselage is together, a bit of PPP applied and I quit, to let that dry overnight. It would be nice if the designers would anticipate ham-handed builders.

Good news about the dome. Ham-handed? heh, heh...yesterday I cut off the pin on the main landing gear strut that glued into the wing socket. Yes sir. I cut it clean off. D'oh!! I did manage to drill out the end of the strut and glue. a short length of straight pin in its place. I hope that will work, but still?!? After all these years, ham-handed is still easy for me. :blush:
