Pros and cons of the ZM 1/48 TA 152-H

I have Gator's Grip Thin Blend and have not had much success using it. It just never has enough tack for things to stay attached. I have trouble getting a flat photoetched piece to stick to a flat surface and zero success with more difficult joints such as knobs and levers. Has anyone else had any problem with Gator's Grip Thin Blend? I wonder if there is a difference between the Thin Blend and the regular stuff or if I got a bad batch. CA glue often sets up way too fast for me and I'd like to have a glue that gives me time to make final positioning adjustments.

Same here. Only the full, non-thinned stuff. Easily thinned with water, if necessary.

I am at the stage where I need to think about gluing the canopy down. What kind of glue should I use for this job? I am worried about the front windscreen/shield part which is quite small; there is not a lot of room for glue to make a bond. I thought about posting this Horten-related question within the Horten build log, but this section has fast become a one-stop spot for useful tool and building advice! Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

You could come back to this question when the time arrives in your Ta 152 thread. There already have been given some answers here. I only would like to add another option: Formula 560´s Canopy Glue! Made by Pacer. Should be available in the States.

Thanks, Thomas. I may have missed the notes about glue earlier: I guess I did. I wasn't sure if the P-E glue you mentioned would work for this application or not, but I am going to call my local hobby shop tomorrow afternoon in Santa Monica to see if they have Formula 560 Glue!

I second the vote for Pacer's 560 canopy glue. I got mine from scalehobbyist.com. I buy quite a bit from them and have always had good service.

Manufacturer: Focke-Wulf Flugzeugbau, G.m.b.H.
Engine: Inverted V-12

Green 3 was built in Sorau in December 1944. She was an H-1. Perfect. She was assigned to Stab J.G. 301 with the other TA's on January 27, 1945, then on February 8, 1945 Stafstaffel (better "Stabsstaffel" - Thomas_M) shifted to Sachau West of Berlin.

On February 21, 1945, Green 3 engaged and defeated a B-17 above Berlin at 16:30.

The pilot was Josef "Jupp" Keil.

He is as tough as the name sounds. The photos I have seen of him show a scarred face. A warrior's face. I would not want to meet this guy in a bad mood or a back alley, but as a pilot he holds the most kills in the TA's cockpit, more than Willi Reschke, who flew Green 9, White 1 and Black 3.
