Stinson SR9 Reliant

Post by midnightprowler »

AMT's classic kit. Not many were in the service, but I have seen a few pics online. Mine is not a replica, just a genersl aircraft that may have flown.
Cockpit finished.

In the mid 1970s, AMT did a series of 1/48 kits all their own: some civil stuff like this, a Lockheed Vega, and a Beech Staggerwing, some WWII & Korean War stuff; B-26, JU-88, Meteor & V-1, Tempest, P-36, F4U Birdcage, Mig-15, F9F-2, and lastly that I remember, a DH-4. None of them were fantastic kits, being quite simplistic with spartan cockpits, but at the time, many were the only game in town in 1/48. Round 2 Models has re issued several of the kits in the past few years. Later in the late 80s and early 90s they would come out with some much better kits when teamed up with ERTL and also re pop some ESCI moldings.
