A hind in 72 scale from Zvezda

Post by BsYamato »

This year i'm building too much helicopter.. so few days ago i started another one :hmm:

Hind version A from the good detailed zvezda late mould.

Box'n'sprues:

Clear parts are moulded as the Su-33 in soft plastic but good tranparency (so you can't crack these pieces :giggles: )

Image

Till now just glued a good ampunt of pieces to have subassemblies for paint sessions.

Image

the most detailed kit part is the engine/rotor gears block

engines not glued, just test fitting. Basically zvezda just missing the various tubes and wiring that cover these parts

That's all for now :)

:P1:

That kit looks quite nicely detailed even before you start your voodoo magic, BSY.

This kit looks so much better then the Hasegawa kit.

The Hasegawa kit has to be over 30 years old now. I remember first coming across it in the mid 80s or so. And wishing that there was one in 1/48.

Here few more steps:

Glued other subassemblies. Some particular attention at the angle of wings tips to be perpendicular to ground.

I choose my way about fuselage instruction priority, so i glued nese parts to the fuselage respective parts. Instructions says to glue them after rear fuselage finished.

Very nice work. I've always liked the look of the Hind.

Takin advantage of a primer day in the bunker with humbrol enamels, unfreezed the hind and last night painted almost all main colors in the inners with acrilics

Also performed some joke with russian helos, i discovered that the main rotor blades of the mi-10 are largest than the mi-26 ones

Image

The rotor head of the hind is close to mi-26 tail rotor dimension , the upper are the hind rotor. Notice the same detail level mould of the zvezda between the two subject

Image

And just a fuselage comparing
