I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how this turns out. Any updates?

Painting is done but it did not went wel. The underside had spiderwebs!
I sanded it down, resprayed... more spiderwebs! Sanded it down, brush painted it. It is not pretty but it is the underside. And more touch up work will not make it better. Just to make it more "fun" some of the yellow and black came of with the masking. So that will also need a touch up.

Man that bites! I had the same thing happen to my C-118! Man, I wish I knew what causes that when the paint is fully cured!

That's not so bad. You can fix it. Just a little brush work and you'll be back on track. Don't let it get you down.

I usually see that type of effect when I put down an enamel wash over an unprotected enamel base. Even after that has cured. But if the thinner is too hot for the base coat, that is what happened. :headslap:

My guess is there some compatibility issues between the two paints used.

Both Black and aluminium are Duplicolor acrylics. The black had more then the 24 hours hardening time that it needs according to the can.
But I think it is a case of operator error: i sprayed a second coat of aluminium to quickly after the first.

After touch up it looks like this:

Not great but more tinkering often leads to worse results.

Hard to see in those small pictures, but that already looks better.

I am still learning to use Postimage. Second try:

By the way, the decals shattered when I tested one ( a black stripe that I masked) so this kit is coming home and will get some Liquid film before I can go any further.

Yes, today we are going to do some more hiking in the mountains. Tomorrow swimming in the lake. Modelling is more of an evening activity when the kids (my son, two nieces and two nephews) are sleeping.
