Some of you may have seen this already, but thought I'd contribute to the new thread. It's my first 1/32 build in probably 30 years or more. I chose the Tamiya Spitfire Mk. IXc, in the markings of George Beurling, also known as the "Falcon of Malta". I titled it "Falcon At Rest".
For the first build in big scale after such a long break there could be worse kits than the Tamiya Spitfire.
Like said above, a spectacular sight. The base is like a well matching frame around a masterly painting.
