24 hour update.

Have the fuselage built. Just painted the landing gear legs. painted the inside of the engine nacelles for the air intakes. Seams are puttied and sanded. Canopy has been dipped in future and is drying.

There has been surprisingly little putty required for this kit considering it is an old ESCI kit. Did discover the missile is missing from the kit. So the final build will be weaponless.

(will fill the recess in the future)

Left to do before painting:

Let the canopy dry and mask, rescribe several panel lines (yes this kit has recessed panel lines!) Do some prepainting by hand. Engine nacells will be painted separate and attached afterwards. There would be some tight areas I could not get to with the air brush if the engines were attached. Don't know if I will get to sludge the panel lines and weather by the end of tomorrow. Will be very close.

Looking good there WF! Too bad about the missile. I like those Soviet anti shipping bombers. They look pretty damned mean when they are armed up.

Not going to make my weekend deadline. Oh well.

This is where i got to.

It will get finished this week.

BTW I did find a missile I can use on this bomber. The TU-16 I am building has 2 large missiles in the kit. The version I am building doesn't use them. The missile isn't the one that would come with the TU-22 kit but close enough to work.

Sweet job on that Blinder! Looking good! I also built one of those I need to get another couple more to make Iraqi and Egyptian too.

Impressive "alsmost done in a week end" build
You're totally mad to choose this kit for a speed build :)

Maybe not a weekend build but you did have a lot of progress. I tried doing a HB easy kit for a weeken GB and failed! So I am very impressed by all the work you did on your kit!
