Tank gilders where a dream of a lot of generals and aeronautical engineers in those times. Like the German Mammut & Gigant, Antonov Ant-40 and this Bat.
Interesting how such a technological driven strategy (glider born troops) where only used in one war before being phased out for another technology (helicopter born troops)

True, but the British Airborne made it a reality. They airlifted tanks into battle by gliders in both Normandy and the Rhine crossing. While the German could airlift light AFVs via the Gigant, that aircraft required an airfield. All the Hamilcar needed was a large enough landing field.

I've never heard of this aircraft so it will be interesting to watch.

Finally some progress. The Bat has gotten a black base coat using mr. Surfacer 1500 Balck.
I then enlarged the painting instructions to 1/72 scale and covered them with cello tape for strength. I then put Kip masking tape (equivalent to Tamiya) on the enlargement and cut the shape out. That way the masking is quite easy.

Beautiful progress. The use of Mr Surfacer 1500 creates extraordinary coverage; and the deep velvety black appears very mysterious. It is also pretty amazing to watch how this choice and change of surface color change the weight of the aircraft. It looks larger!
