Italeri (Accurate Miniatures) 1/48 SBD-5

Post by scorpiomikey »

My dad passed this kit on to me years ago because "Its a funny type of plastic, i dont like it" Personally ive had no issues. Its a beautiful kit. Amazingly detailed.

Trying a new photo page. Hopefully this works.

I can honestly say ive never put this much effort into a cockpit before. And im still plugging away at it lol.

The photo hoster im using is a website called cubeupload. https://cubeupload.com/

Im interested to see how it works. Let me know if things look ok to you guys.

Also comments and critique welcome as always.

You're not gonna find any better kits than an Accurate Miniatures for 1/48 aircraft. That cockpit is looking sharp!

Thanks stik.
Still got a few more bits and Bob's to paint in there. But nearly time to button it up.

The quarterscale AM-kits were the hot sh*t back in the nineties. Their molding technologie was clearly one step ahead.
That flying office looks good so far. In the 4th picture on the right side of the panel is an ejector pin mark. Will it be visible when all's glued together?

I'm on moble, so the pics don't want to load for me... But I'm sure your work is stunning! :headslap: :giggles:

I have the AM boxing of this little in the stash, and the pit detail had me drooling. Now only to find the mojo to tackle a more complex project... :bag:

Thanks guys.
Mos that ejector pin mark is hidden behind the IP. The one i was worried about is right in the middle of one of the pouches on the wall. But it disappears when its all glued together. In fact most of the cockpit disappears when its all glued together which is a shame.

OWL. Im sure youll get there. For me it was getting an easily accessible space to work with. Plus the girl ive started dating was asking about it and it kind of got my imagination going.

Man these old AM SBD kits are just ALL THAT!!!! I bought one a couple of years ago and am looking forward to building it. I've built the old Monogram SBD..............twice. The first one was when I was a kid and the second one was just a couple of years ago. I used interior parts and some odds and ends from a spare Hasegawa kit that I had in the stash. Come to think of it I've built the Hasegawa version as well back in '97 when those AM kits were coming out.
This one's coming together well with your attention to the details payin' off. Looking forward to more.
