Very clever idea. going to 'steal' this one for sure if I have to make one of these helos!

Started the padding by scoring thin plastic sheet...I did not like it.

I remembered some PE mesh that I have...some aluminum foil, burnished down over the mesh with a q-tip did the trick!!!

The pattern looks pretty good to me. It's not particularly accurate in its application, but looks better than what the kit gives! For what little will be seen, I think this will "pass".

It has been a while!!!

I finally got the decals, with a little help from some friends.

Back on the bench....finally!!!

Stopped by my airport the other day, to bid a job...just happened to be a Chinook on the ramp...got some decent detail shots for the locations of the flare dispenser mounts. Scratched those up with sheet styrene...also made new pitot tubes with aluminum tubing.

Getting close to the end!

I was wondering about this one... :hmm: Good to see it heading for the home stretch!

This thing has been giving me the "puppy dog eyes" for months (waiting on the decals to get made). I feel horrible about it taking so long...I was hoping to have it done for a customer back before x-mas. :headslap:

Well... “overdue” is better than “overdue, presumed lost”...

What a magnificent beast! (and the model looks great too! :drum: :giggles: )

Truly this is spectacular; I'm glad to see this helicopter getting completed.

Ah, a Chinook! What a great helicopter. Also, what a great build of a great helicopter. I really like your work, on this. I really like what you’ve done with the interior and especially the cockpit. And what I like even more is subtlety with the painting effects, I really enjoyed seeing where you took it starting with the black and white, building up to the helo drab. I think it looks great. Really nice work so far.

Awesome to see this one going forward. Truly special work on the inside of this thing. I love the boxes on the pallet!
